Mr. Dallas: tout and about, Lotus

It was a big weekend for ultra-lounges. Not only did Lotus (right) make a promising first impression, CHERYL DIAZ MEYER
but Bice debuted another iteration of its revamped lounge, now christened Bar Milan at Bice. Yes, the name's too precious by half, as is the marketing slogan: "the energy of Milan combined with the excitement of Dallas." (Uh-huh.) But Friday night there was ... pleasant. Thin praise, unless you've spent too many hours in the throbbing meat-grinder of some other ultra-lounges.

Even the Meyerson Symphony Center got into the lounge act as the Dallas Symphony collaborated with Modern Luxury magazine for a post-Casual Fridays concert party. The lobby was tricked out in Cantoni furnishings with a cool-groove-spinning DJ and a young lady loudly hectoring the fleeing audience to stick around for "Casual-tinis."
