Curse of the Tiki

It was like something from a bad Gilligan's Island script Wednesday when the new tiki statue was installed outside of Trader Vic's (scheduled to open Feb. 16) at Hotel Palomar. The new tiki replaces the famous Big Tiki that stood in the same spot for years. "As soon as we put up the tiki, it started snowing," says Palomar and Vic's co-owner Jeff Berry. "I don't know what that means."
